The City of Livermore has an annual sidewalk program and budget.  City maintained sidewalk locations are prioritized and programmed for repairs as the annual budget allows. From April 2023 to July 2023 the City contracted with Precision Emprise, LLC, dba Precision Concrete Cutting to remove tripping hazards for city-maintained sidewalks with an elevation difference of up to 2 inches.

Beginning July 2023, Precision Concrete Cutting will be visually inspecting, spray-painting, photographing and collecting data at approximately 2,000 sidewalk locations throughout the City to identify areas for shaving, removal, and replacement.

The California Streets and Highways Code places responsibility for repair of sidewalks on the adjacent property owner. For sidewalks that are not city-maintained, the City is sending out notices to property owners to repair sidewalks adjacent to their properties. The sidewalk repair informational pamphlet can be found here.

For city-maintained sidewalks, the next sidewalk repair project for is tentatively scheduled for spring/summer 2024 as sidewalk repairs are typically done in dry weather. Please note, this sidewalk repair project is only for sidewalks that are the City's responsibility (ex. those adjacent to public property).
