The City operates a general aviation reliever airport located at 680 Terminal Circle, Livermore, California which serves private, business, and corporate tenants and customers. A reliever airport, as designated by the Secretary of Transportation, relieves congestion at a commercial service airport and provides more general aviation access to the overall community. The airport was constructed in December 1965.

Airport projects include a variety of runway improvements and facility upgrades which are required to comply with Federal Aviation Administration regulations on airport safety, operations, and environmental regulations.
