Community Service Day
On May 6, 2023, a total of 369 volunteers worked together to improve our community on Community Service Day. On that day, volunteers planted trees and various other plants, pulled weeds and spread mulch and bark.
The 17 newly planted trees provide:
- Cleaner air - Trees help to reduce air pollution and improve overall air quality in cities. Additionally, it reduces the carbon footprint of cities and contributes to local climate action efforts.
- Improved mental health and well-being - Trees in cities provide opportunities for relaxation, stress reduction, and recreation, contributing to improved overall quality of life.
- Habitat biodiversity - Urban trees serve as stepping stones and corridors for species movement, contributing to the conservation of urban biodiversity and ecological balance.
- and so much more!
Thank you to all our participants and community partners for your dedication to the Livermore community! We cannot wait for next year!
