One of the best ways to reduce your outdoor water use is by replacing your lawn with California native or low-water landscaping. Even properties with traditional landscaping can reduce their water use through changes to their irrigation systems and maintenance.

Rebates to Help Transform your Yard

Livermore's water service providers are helping their customers reduce their outdoor water use through offering a wide variety of money saving rebates.

There are two water service providers within Livermore city limits - Livermore Municipal Water and California Water Service (Cal Water). Visit your property's water service provider's website to view available rebates to help lower your landscaping's water needs.

Alternative Water Sources

If you have already replaced your landscaping with low-water plants, you may be able to further reduce your property's outdoor water use through alternative water sources. Use the options below to explore options available in Livermore.

Other Tips to Save Water Outdoors

• Sweep driveways, sidewalks, and steps rather than hosing them off.
  
  
• If you have a swimming pool, consider purchasing a new water-saving pool filter. Lower the pool's water level to reduce amount of water splashed out. Always cover your pool when it is not being used to reduce evaporation.
  
  
• Do not install or use fountains or decorative water features unless they recirculate the water.
