Historical activities at the Livermore Village Site, a City owned development area between First Street, L Street, Railroad Avenue, and Livermore Avenue, has surface soils contaminated with heavy metals and hydrocarbons. Prior drycleaning operations contaminated deeper soil, soil vapor, and groundwater with organic chemicals. Removing soils with high concentrations and extraction of soil vapor will reduce contaminants below levels of concern for the planned land uses. Remediation will reduce exposure risks and reduce the risk of groundwater contamination.

The project will include:

  • Environmental testing and analysis
  • Oversight by Regional Water Quality Control Board
  • Construction and operation of remediation systems
