The State of California's Regional Water Quality Control Board issues the City of Livermore a Stormwater Permit which requires that trash capture devices be installed in a portion of each city's retail and commercial area storm drain systems. These devices reduce the amount of trash washed into creeks during a storm events.

The project will be completed in three phases:

  • Phase 1 (Project #2021-12):
    • Installation of additional 69 inlet screens
  • Phase 2 (Project #2024-25):
    • Install 8 large scale trash capture devices such as hydrodynamic separator units and netting devices.
  • Phase 3 (Project #2026-25):
    • Install 8 large scale trash capture devices such as hydrodynamic separator units and netting devices.
