With the exception of approved campaign signs and their allowable locations, temporary commercial or noncommercial signs are not allowed to be displayed on public property or placed in a public street or median areas.

Each sign, including a nonconforming sign, shall be maintained in good condition.

Prohibited Signs

The following signs are prohibited in all zoning districts:

  • A sign in conjunction with a home occupation (home business);
  • A flashing, moving, animated, blinking, or rotating sign;
  • A sign which creates a traffic hazard though means of distraction, glare, vision obstruction, or at a location where it may interfere with, obstruct the view of, or be confused with any authorized traffic sign;
  • A sign which includes a noisemaking device; and
  • A billboard or roof sign.

Permanent Signs

A permit is required for all permanent commercial signs prior to display. All permanent signs are subject to design review.

Temporary Signs

A permit is required for all temporary commercial signs prior to display. Only one temporary sign permitted per parcel. All temporary commercial signs are permitted for a total of 35 days per a calendar quarter.

Violations

Violators will be subject to citation and penalties per LMC 1.20.
