A person who receives an administrative citation may contest it on the basis that there was no violation of the Livermore Municipal Code (LMC) or the Livermore Development Code (LDC) or that he or she is not the responsible party.

To contest a citation, the person cited shall submit a completed Request for Hearing form to the city within 30 days from the date of the citation.

A Request for Hearing form may be obtained here or by calling the Permit Center at 925-960-4440 or Neighborhood Preservation at 925-960-4444.

A signed, written hearing request with the citation number and case number may be submitted in place of a Request for Hearing form.

The person requesting the hearing shall be notified of the date, time, and place for the hearing at least ten days prior to the date of the hearing.

The failure of the person requesting the hearing to appear shall constitute an forfeiture of the fine and a failure to exhaust his or her administrative remedies.

For more information on Administrative Penalties, please refer to LMC 1.20.
