Commercial Vehicles

Parking or storage of commercial trucks, buses, sign trailers, trailers or semi-trailers for freight, luggage, or the like shall not be permitted in any transect or other residential zones.

Inoperable Vehicles

The accumulation and storage of wrecked, abandoned, dismantled, or inoperable vehicles, or parts thereof, upon private property and in public view is prohibited.

However, one inoperable vehicle which is screened by a fitted, manufactured vehicle cover which is maintained in good repair may be parked or stored on a driveway or paved driveway extension in place of one of the two allowable recreational vehicles with the following requirements:

  • Vehicle must not be stored up on ramps, jacks, blocks, or other means which may constitute a safety hazard;
  • Vehicle must not have any flat or deflated tires; and
  • Vehicle must not have an unreasonable accumulation of litter, trash, vegetation, or other debris on, in, under, or around it.

Private Property Parking

No vehicles shall be parked or stored in the front yard of any residential property except on a driveway or paved driveway extension.

Public Street Parking

Any vehicle parked on a public street must be in drivable condition, currently registered with the DMV, and display current registration tabs.

No person who owns or has possession, custody, or control of any vehicle, boat, trailer, or equipment shall park the vehicle on any street or alley for more than a consecutive period of 72 hours.

Recreational Vehicles

No more than two recreational vehicles (i.e.: campers, RVs, boats, trailers, etc.) may be parked or stored on the driveway or paved driveway extension at the same time.

Twice during any one calendar year, out-of-town visitors may park a recreational vehicle (motor home) on the public street for a period not to exceed 10 consecutive days, provided said vehicle is not used for camping or habitation purposes. Violations

Violators will be subject to citation and penalties per LMC 1.20 and/or the California Vehicle Code.
