Unlawful Property Nuisance

It is a violation of the Livermore Municipal Code to maintain, or allow to be maintained, property in a manner which any of the following conditions are found to exist and are visible from a public street:

  • The accumulation of litter or debris;
  • Overflowing trash, garbage or refuse cans or carts, boxes or other such containers stored in the front or side yards;
  • Boxes, lumber, junk, trash, salvage materials, or other debris;
  • Nuisance dangerous to children and visible from a public street including abandoned, broken or neglected equipment, machinery, appliances, hazardous pools or ponds and excavations;
  • Broken or discarded furniture, household equipment and furnishing or shopping carts stored on the property and visible from a public street; or
  • Vehicle parts or other articles of personal property which are abandoned or left in a state of partial construction or repair in front yards, side yards, driveway, sidewalk or walkways.

Curbside Collection

The City’s franchise/Livermore Sanitation, Inc. (LSI) provides single-family residents up to three (3) curbside waste collections per year at no additional cost. Please visit livermoresanitation.com or call 925-449-7300 for information and to schedule your curbside collection.

Violations

Violators will be subject to citation and penalties per LMC 1.20.
