The City of Livermore Housing and Human Services Grant program helps fund critical safety net services for low-income community members, including young people, families, unhoused people, community members with disabilities, seniors, and veterans. Housing and Human Services Grants are funded through a combination of federal community development grants and local funds. The annual grant process is stewarded by the Livermore Human Services Commission, which reviews each application and makes funding recommendations every Spring to the Livermore City Council.


FY 2024-2025 Housing and Human Services Grants

The application period for the City of Livermore's FY 2024-2025 Housing and Human Services Grant Program is currently closed.  More information about the grant application process is below:    

November 15, 2023- Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) is released

December 1, 2023Grant Application is released in ZoomGrants

December 6, 2023- Virtual Tri-Valley Grant Application Workshop @ 10:00 a.m-12:00 p.m. The cities of Livermore, Pleasanton and Dublin are co-sponsoring and application workshop for FY 2024-25 Grants.  Applicant attendance is mandatory to apply for the Livermore, Pleasanton, and/or Dublin Grant Funding. 

January 19, 2024 @ 11:59 p.m.- Grant Application Deadline

February 13, 2024- Human Service Commission Meeting @ 6:00 p.m.- Applicant Presentations to the Human Services Commission.  Applicant attendance is mandatory for grant funding.  For information regarding the meeting please visit the Human Services Commission website. 

March 12, 2024- Human Service Commission Meeting @ 7:00 p.m.- The Human Services Commission reviews and approves funding recommendations. Applicant attendance is not mandatory, but all are welcome to attend. For information regarding the meeting please visit the Human Services Commission website. 

April 15, 2024- City Council Meeting @ 7:00 pm. The Council will consider the funding recommendations from the HSC at this meeting. Applicant attendance is not mandatory, but all are welcome to attend. For information regarding the meeting please visit City Council Meeting Calendar & Agendas

Funding Priorities & Accomplishments

In Summer 2023, the Human Services Commission conducted a community needs process to identify funding priorities, which were adopted by Council on October 23, 2023, and are summarized here: FY 2024-25 Grant Priorities

The 2020-2024 Consolidated Plan establishes priority needs for all projects funded with Community Development Block Grants and HOME Investment Partnership resources.  The FY

The 2022-2023 Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER) summarizes the results and accomplishments of federally funded projects from July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023. 

The FY 2023-2024 Action Plan describes how the City will leverage Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and other Housing and Human Services Grant Program funding for the period of July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024.

Current Grant Cycle

In Fall 2023, the Human Services Commission conducted a community needs process to identify funding priorities, which are summarized FY 2024-25 Grant Priorities.

On April 24, 2023, the Livermore City Council approved the FY 2023-2024 Housing and Human Services Grant awards, which fund 15 activities provided by 9 public and nonprofit agencies beginning July 1, 2023. These funds, leveraged with other local public and private funding sources, will serve over 5,000 low-income, senior, youth, unhoused, and disabled Livermore community members.
