Contractors for the new Shea Portola Townhome project (100 Portola Avenue) will temporarily reduce Portola Avenue to one lane between Montage Drive and Collier Canyon Road. The closure will start on April 1 and shall be in place through May 2024.  This lane closure was originally estimated to occur in early March but was delayed due to weather. The closure will allow the contractor to install a new bike lane with planter areas along Portola Avenue. Bicyclists can dismount and cross Portola Avenue at either Montage Drive or Collier Canyon Road and use the southern sidewalk as a detour. Speeds along Portola Avenue will be reduced from 40 MPH to 25 MPH for safety during the closure. Questions can be directed to the City of Livermore Engineering Division 925-960-4500.
