The Past and Present of the Duarte Highway Garage presented by Will Bolton, President of the Livermore Heritage Guild and Curator of the Duarte Garage and Lincoln Highway Museum

The Livermore Public Library and the Livermore Heritage Guild present Then & Now: Livermore Stories, a local history lecture series. Will Bolton will present a Zoom program entitled “The Past and Present of the Duarte Highway Garage” on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. Will Bolton is the President of the Livermore Heritage Guild and the Curator of the Duarte Garage and Lincoln Highway Museum. Mr. Bolton will describe the conditions in the early 1900s that led to the establishment of the Duarte Highway Garage in 1915 and explain the relationship between the Garage and the Lincoln Highway, the first U.S. transcontinental highway. He will also trace the development of the Garage leading to its current state as a museum. Will’s presentation will conclude with a description of current displays and activities at the Garage.
