Police Officer:

Police Officers at the City of Livermore perform a wide variety of law enforcement tasks including, but not limited to:

  • Patrols an assigned area(s) for the prevention and detection of crime and enforcement of laws and regulations
  • Responds to and investigates reported disorders or crimes
  • Notes and reports complaints, accidents, offenses, and damages to property
  • Reports abandoned or damaged vehicles
  • Directs traffic
  • Makes public presentations to schools, businesses, and neighborhood groups
  • Appears in court to testify regarding arrests
  • Other law enforcement activities

Public Safety Dispatcher:

Dispatchers at the City of Livermore provide a wide variety of public safety tasks including, but not limited to:

  • Answers emergency and non-emergency phone calls
  • Coordinates the resources needed for effective response by public safety personnel
  • Dispatch police and other public safety services by radio, phone, and computer
  • Conduct records research and queries; conduct data entry data; and complete other support tasks as assigned
