Public art plays an important role in increasing the understanding and enjoyment of art for our community. Art is more accessible and visible to citizens when displayed in public areas. A key feature of public artwork is the integration of art into the urban fabric of the City in order to enrich and enhance the physical attractiveness of the community. Public art transforms its location and makes a unique and valuable contribution to our appreciation of Livermore and the quality of its public spaces.

Through the City of Livermore’s artsALIVE! plan and the CreativeLivermore framework, the City endeavors to feature works of art in public places as well as supporting arts and culturally related activities that enhance and further develop our arts and cultural community.
