Teens Science Spotlight: Waterfowl

The Livermore Public Library and Del Valle Regional Park of the East Bay Regional Park District are hosting free animal science events for students in grades 6-12. A Naturalist will share interesting natural science information with participating teens. Space is limited, so registration is required. Teens may register at any library information desk, or by calling (925) 373-5500. Registration opens four weeks before each program. Waterfowl
Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2023, 4 – 5 p.m. at the Springtown Library, 998 Bluebell Dr.
Teens and Rangers will analyze these birds’ ecology and specialized adaptations for water, as well as discuss migration and the flyways. Registration opens Dec. 31, 2022.

Next Science Spotlight Events:

  • Fish Tales: Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2022, 4 – 5 p.m. at the Civic Center Library Storytime Room, 1188 S. Livermore Ave. Teens will learn about the lengthy evolutionary path fish have taken to become what we see today.
  • Amphibians: Sunday, Feb. 19, 2023, 9 – 11 a.m. at the equestrian staging lot at Brushy Peak Regional Preserve, 3899 Laughlin Rd, Livermore, CA 94551. Teens will hit the trails on a scientific exploration to find evidence of amphibians and learn about their ecology and conservation.
