Police Officer
Police Officers at the City of Livermore perform a wide variety of law enforcement tasks including, but not limited to:
- Patrols an assigned area(s) for the prevention and detection of crime and enforcement of laws and regulations
- Responds to and investigates reported disorders or crimes
- Notes and reports complaints, accidents, offenses, and damages to property
- Reports abandoned or damaged vehicles
- Directs traffic
- Makes public presentations to schools, businesses, and neighborhood groups
- Appears in court to testify regarding arrests
- Other law enforcement activities
Public Safety Dispatcher
Dispatchers at the City of Livermore provide a wide variety of public safety tasks including, but not limited to:
- Answers emergency and non-emergency phone calls
- Coordinates the resources needed for effective response by public safety personnel
- Dispatch police and other public safety services by radio, phone, and computer
- Conduct records research and queries; conduct data entry data; and complete other support tasks as assigned
