Report a Traffic Problem or Request Traffic Enforcement

The Livermore Police Department Traffic Unit strives to keep our community's roadways safe for all motorists and pedestrians. In an effort to accomplish this goal, we employ the three "E"s of traffic safety; Education, Engineering and Enforcement. The Traffic Unit has been developed with this objective in mind.

The Traffic Unit provides daily traffic enforcement to the many miles of roadways in the City of Livermore and is responsible for investigating all serious injury and fatal collisions in the city. As available, the Traffic Unit will investigate all reported collisions that occurred within city limits. The unit also has a Community Service Specialist who works on the Abandoned Vehicle Abatement program.

The Traffic Unit participates in a variety of programs designed to make our roadways safer. Among them are Combined Intensive Traffic Enforcement (CITE), Commercial Officers of Southern Alameda County (COSAC), Click it or Ticket and DUI saturation patrols.

The Traffic Unit presents education to community members through a wide variety of programs. Every other year the unit presents the Every 15 Minutes program to all juniors and seniors at the Livermore high schools.
