County and State Aligned in Ending State of Emergency

In alignment with the end of California’s COVID-19 State of Emergency, the local public health emergency for COVID-19 in Alameda County ended February 28, 2023.

The Alameda County eviction moratorium was passed by a Board of Supervisor's resolution and is set to expire 60 days after the local health emergency lifted on Feb. 28. Further questions regarding the Board of Supervisors’ Eviction Moratorium can be directed to County Supervisors’ offices.

City of Livermore Proclamation of Local Emergency

On March 13, 2020, the City Manager declared a Local Emergency. The local emergency was ratified by City Council and continued every 30 days into 2022, where the emergency was terminated by Council in April 2022, then reinstated in May 2022 (Reso. No. 2022-077) and continued in June 2022 (Reso. No. 2022-099). The local emergency terminated thirty days thereafter, as it was not renewed.

COVID-19 continues to circulate in our communities and poses a risk especially for those who are not up to date on their vaccination. When people wear a mask correctly, they protect others as well as themselves.

Anyone, 2 years of age and older, may want to continue masking, regardless of vaccination status and even when the Alameda County COVID-19 Community Level is Low, in indoor public settings and businesses.

Some people should not wear a mask, such as children younger than 2 and people with certain medical conditions or disabilities.

The risk of COVID-19 is still present, especially if you are not fully vaccinated against the virus.

To increase the vaccination rates in Livermore, the City took specific actions starting right away in March of 2020 and continuing through the duration of the pandemic:

1. Local Vaccination Clinics: the City coordinated with the County, health care providers, and local organizations to bring vaccine clinics to the area and will do so again when needed. 
2. Outreach Efforts: the City regularly communicated with the public about the availability of vaccine through various methods, such as flyers, website, social media, and displays downtown.
3. Detailed Data from Alameda County: the City received detailed data from the County, including vaccination rates by demographic and census tract. 
4. Collaborate with the County: the City established regular direct communication with the County and collaborated on a number of items such as Livermore-specific data and vaccination clinics and testing sites.
5. Collaborate with Local Health Care Providers: the City collaborated with local health care providers to message about vaccines and the importance of speaking with your health care provider if you have questions. 
6. Direct Asks to Community Partners: the City asked community partners and organizations to share information with their members and networks about vaccine availability and the importance of getting vaccinated. 
7. COVID-19 Task Force: former Mayor Woerner established a COVID-19 task force of leaders from community organizations and businesses to develop recommendations for increasing vaccinations rates in Livermore. The task force has wrapped up.
